Frequently asked questions

Please note that the Gin House is currently taking a break from shows at The Kings Head.

What to expect at the show?

Be transported back in time. The year is 1932, the Gin in sacred and forbidden and the Burlesque dancers even more so.

Behind the dark and dilapidated exterior of 257 Kingsland Road awaits 4 floors of gin soaked burlesque, music, magic and vaudevillian delights ...This immersive evening will take place throughout the many levels of our Gin-House. Be ready to explore every room and space that awaits.

Doors will open and gin will flow from 7.30pm and the entertainment will commence at 8.30pm in the main bar.

You will all be given either a gold or silver wristband upon arrival.

These will be your key to explore the entire 4 floors of the Gin House where simultaneous shows will go on in different rooms. Following the beginning section of the show on the ground floor Gold wristband holders will be shown to the first floor for the sit down show whilst silver wristband holders will be treated to a show in the basement before being led to the third floor, before gold and silver groups swap floors. But do remember, patience is a virtue, and everyone will see every performance at one point or another throughout the evening, all under the instruction of our host and front of house dames.

Please be aware our show may include live snakes and the venue contains significant amounts of taxidermy.

Can I exchange tickets for a different date or get a refund?

Tickets come with a no refund or exchange policy.

What is the dress code?

Dig out your finery and prepare for a night of decadence in your finest vintage threads. We encourage ladies to dress in flapper dresses or vintage gowns, and gents to wear tails coats and hats. This is only a suggestion and not compulsory, but smart dress is essential. Please note that sportswear is not allowed and that entry is only granted in the proper dress code.

Is the event seated?

The event is a mixture of standing and seating, room dependent. The bar is standing unless VIP tickets with booth seating are purchased. All other floors are seated.

Due to the age of our venue we are very sorry to announce that there is no step free access at the Gin-House

Will there be food available to order?

Unfortunately food is not served at the Gin-House but there are plenty of restaurants in near by Shoreditch and Dalston to eat before hand if you so desire.

How long is the show?

The show lasts approximately 4 hours with three intervals.

Are names on tickets transferable?

Yes, all event tickets are transferable to other persons and details can be amended on the door upon arrival. However every ticket will be scanned and is only valid once.
